We need some graphics cut....

I would like to have them based on the pic below....The number we need is 68 and we will need Falcon across the front and hopefully a sponsor graphic on each side. Any takers....?

Found it.....

The problem with the animal motor that is....It was just the main jet and the fact that it wasn't on the emulsion tube...It might have fallen into the bowl and I just didn't see it or hear it hit the ground at the track...Took me awhile to figure it out....Looking at the numbers on the jets was when I found it....I figured something was supposed to be screwed into the bottom of it because it was threaded...I got the left over parts from the carb build and found the jet that fits....I didn't know squat about these carbs before the problem....I know it pretty good now...Just might be a blessing in disguise.

Well I think I found the problem.....

It won't run without the main jet...I guess somewhere between Jimmy's and the track the main jet most have fallen in the bowl....When I pulled it off at the track it wasn't on the main emulsion tube and I didn't know any better....I do now. We will try to go run it again tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem.

Blowing alky out the puke tube....?

No I didn't have too many beers....This in on our new animal motor with only dyno time on it....Ran good on the dyno....Wouldn't run after hitting the track....It cut out no matter where on the track it was....Wouldn't run full throttle for more than 1/3 of a lap (1.5 mile oval).

There was alky coming out the puke tube and alky in the oil when we changed it today....Took the carb apart today and couldn't find anything wrong inside...Nothing stopped up...Put it back together and found an empty parking lot....Still did it.

Float is set at .850 and when I pulled the plug there was alky on top of the piston.

I'm pretty sure it's getting too much fuel....I plan on moving the needle down one notch...It's in the middle slot now.

If that doesn't work what should I try next....?

It's a HOSS.....

Just got back home with the new baby....It turned out really well....It has an almost 1 of-a-kind header on it...Jimmy has the only other one and the power is right up there with a new nationl level animal from one of the best...On the dyno anyway.

Look out Daytona here Wee come...

We got to work on the Animal.....

Went down to Jimmy's on Saturday and got a good start on the new Animal motor...It's different....Metric for one...Well most bolts are metric some are still standard...? Looks like I'll need a few new tools...5mm carb tools....JC Specialties is supposed to have them....A flywheel holder (I think I can make one)....Tool to lap the valves with and to take the keepers off with....No where near as simple as the flathead....I guess I'm just used to the flathead....I'm sure the animal will grow on me....Can't wait to see him out on the track with it.

Here she is....

Devin beginning the disassembly....

Stripped down block....

Here is the billet flywheel...

Jimmy heat treating one of the rings....

Here is the carb....

and the piston...I can't think Jimmy enough for helping us thru the years...He is a hell of a guy.

Volusia aerial photo.....

Not sure where the kart track is now.....I don't think it's the 1/8 mile one that is shown here......Sure would like to see one with the sealer on the track....?

Here is another one....

Sure was nice to run at home again....

Tonight we raced at our home track NGMS for the first time in over 2 months and had a good run....Finished 2nd in the heat and 2nd in the main.....The track was just a little ruff after the installation of the sprinkler system....It had a few ruts from all the pipe being laid....It wasn't as bad as I had expected it to be.

Devin didn't get a good start at the beginning of the main and had to fall back into 3rd place after starting on the outside front row....It took him about 12 laps to get around a fast 2nd place kart....By then the leader had about a 10 to 12 kart lead....Devin ran him down and finished the race beside him about 3/4 of a kart length short of a victory.....The new frame is just as fast as the old one was....FT in the main 13.09
